Facilities
The Quendale Water Mill is well equipped for dealing with visitors. When you arrive you will be invited to view a 12 minute video of the working Mill and then enjoy a guided tour by our custodian.
Among the facilities available are:-
Tea, coffee, biscuits, sweets and cold drinks are available for those in need of light refreshment, with time on their hands, or simply in need of shelter on a rainy day. Prices are very reasonable.
Our small Craft Shop offers the visitors a selection of locally produced crafts, knitwear, souvenirs, videos (PAL/NTSC) and scenic postcards. There are also publications of local interest as well as those of a more general interest.
The South Mainland History Group works closely with the Shetland Family History Society and holds a database of genealogical information covering all of Shetland. For those with South Mainland roots we are an excellent source of information. Our Custodian will be happy to advise potential researchers.
Our disabled facilities include access to toilets, craft shop and refreshments, and assisted access to other parts of the Mill, including our exhibitions. Phone ahead, if in doubt, and we will do all we can to assist.
